Placements reflect ranked-league and Clan War value at Town Hall 17-18, where every serious attack starts with the loadout screen.

Cross-hero comparison is the whole point. Every hero's equipment draws from the same three ore pools — Shiny, Glowy and the painfully scarce Starry — so a level on the Royal Champion's boots is a level your Warden's tome never sees. That shared wallet means 'best equipment for the King' is the wrong question; the real decision is which item across all six heroes converts your next batch of ore into the most tripled bases. Common equipment is cheap and quietly efficient, while Epic equipment (unlocked through events) devours Starry Ore, so an Epic has to be genuinely meta-defining to justify its price.

Note the mix: Action Figure, Magic Mirror, Spiky Ball, Fireball and Electro Boots are Epics — the big Starry sinks — while Eternal Tome, Earthquake Boots, Dark Orb and Fire Heart are Commons that massively outperform their cost.
