Umamusume: Pretty Derby Character Tier List

This board ranks trainable Umamusume released on the GLOBAL server — 96 character cards as of August 9, 2026, with alternate outfits tiered separately, exactly as the sources do. Placements reflect overall value across Champions Meeting, Team Trials, and career training. At the top: Kitasan Black (Gilded Shrine to Glory), the long-distance front-runner ace still being trained on the JP server years later; Oguri Cap (Ashen Miracle), whose Festive Miracle is a rare unique that grants velocity, acceleration and recovery at once; and Seiun Sky (Reeling in the Big One), a near-mandatory parent for competitive front runners thanks to Angling and Scheming.

PvP context: the Virgo Cup (CM17, Oi / DIRT / 2,000m Medium / Right-Handed) raced August 8 and is over. It was the first Champions Meeting run under the Grand Concert scenario, and the dirt runners it briefly elevated have come off their peak. Global is now between Champions Meetings: Libra Cup (CM18) runs August 25 - September 3 on Hanshin TURF 1,600m (Mile), Right-Handed, with signups from August 25 and the first races August 28. That swings the meta back the other way - off dirt mediums and onto turf milers - so Copano Rickey (Eightfold Fortune), the strongest dedicated Dirt runner on global and the pick for Virgo Cup, falls out of contention while mile-capable turf runners return to it. Team Trials, meanwhile, keeps skill-point machines like Gold Ship (RUN! RUIN! LAUNCHER!) relevant: her 564 Escapades bypasses activation conditions on two random gold skills.

Scope note for JP veterans: this is the global roster only, and JP tier lists will mislead you. The July steampunk-and-Grand-Concert wave is now fully boarded: Smart Falcon (Twilight Triumph), the July 22 debut, sits in A as global's second dedicated Dirt runner — a Front Runner whose kit is almost entirely Dirt-locked, which is a liability most of the year and an asset for Virgo Cup; Narita Taishin (Difference Engineer) and Winning Ticket (Dream Deliverer), the July 27 steampunk alts, both open in B on build-guide reads because no tier list has rated them yet — expect movement once they do.

Provisional tiers follow Game8's CM17 and Team Trials tier lists (updated July 27, 2026), with the roster, card IDs and Global release dates verified against GameTora's release_en field. Note that Game8 retired its Overall and Easiness tier lists on July 16, and that Pocket Tactics' EN rankings were last refreshed July 13 and do not cover the July wave at all. Disagree?
